One of the biggest decisions a client can make for their bathroom construction or remodel is how to enclose their shower. Recommending the right shower enclosures is an important part of your job as a contractor, so we’ve put together this list of considerations to keep in mind to make sure you recommend the best shower enclosures for your clients.
- Size: Bathrooms come in many different shapes, sizes, and layouts. Some shower enclosures take up more space than others. You are well-versed in working with different room layouts and designs, so make sure you talk with your clients about what size of enclosure would fit the bathroom space they have available.
- Glass Material: We recommend tempered glass over traditional annealed glass for shower enclosures. Showers can get hot, and tempered glass is more heat resistant than annealed glass. You want to make sure shattering glass is prevented in the shower, so it’s a good idea to recommend tempered glass for your clients’ shower enclosures.
- Thickness: The thickness of the shower enclosure’s glass will play a role in the frame requirements. Thicker glass, for example, needs a frame, whereas thinner glass may not necessarily need a frame. Depending on your client’s aesthetic preferences, you may recommend thicker or thinner glass.
