Three Tips for Designing Perfect Closet Systems

Closet systems provide homeowners with the perfect space to fit a variety of different clothes, shoes, jewelry, and anything else they want to put in their closet. However, inefficient or improperly designed closet systems can be more of a hassle to navigate than an asset to your clients. Here are three of the top design tips to consider when designing closet systems for your clients.

Three Tips for Designing Perfect Closet Systems

  1. Use shelves. Don’t rely on hanging rods alone. Not every clothing item needs to be hung up, and your clients will likely want to utilize a shelving system. Be sure to talk with your client about what their storage needs are. For example, if your client has a lot of shoes, they may want more shelving space than hanging rod space.
  1. Ask about special considerations. Does your client want a space to sit down in their closet? Many people want to include a vanity area in their closet for getting ready so they don’t have to do it in the bathroom. Vanity areas can take up a lot of space, so be sure to speak with your client about their needs when designing a closet system.
  1. Consider the space available. Make sure the closet system layout is realistic for the space available. Including lots of drawers, hanging rods, and other features is great, but if your client’s closet can’t accommodate all of these features, be sure to ask them what their top priorities are for their closet system.
